The mission of Grupo Origem is to work with native and identity-based ingredients to promote a style of haute cuisine that is authentically Bahian, contemporary, and at the same time, international. Believing in food as a tool for social transformation, chefs Fabrício Lemos and Lisiane Arouca see the role of the chef as going beyond simply delivering creatively delicious dishes — which they do with mastery. Their contribution also, and above all, lies in advocating for and preserving the environment, supporting sustainable rural development, and strengthening the entire supply chain in a fair and equitable way. This principle is the guiding thread that runs through all of their projects — the restaurants Origem, Orí, and Segreto, the Gem minibar, Megiro Boteco, and their operations at Fera Palace Hotel (Omí and Rooftop). They also founded Instituto Orí, a collective dedicated to promoting research, studies, and social, educational, cultural, and tourism development related to eco-gastronomy.
